The first instance of record breaking winter weather this season hit hard as an arctic deep freeze moved in across western Canada. The Canada geese that normally migrate south for the winter must be feeling it. With temperatures close to -50C with the wind chill, the water treatment plant that keeps the South Saskatchewan River from freezing over in part has its work cut out for it. Go south young geese.
